Systems Selection

Independent evaluation from someone with nothing to sell you.

Software selection is a market with an information problem. Vendors demo their strengths, the evaluation criteria come from vendor material, and the decision often gets made on the quality of the sales process rather than the fit of the product.

We run it as a structured evaluation instead, and we don’t resell or take referral commissions from any platform, so the recommendation is about your fit.

  • Requirements first, weighted, and agreed before anyone sees a demo. This is the step that prevents the process being led by whatever the first vendor showed you.
  • Market scan and longlist, including the sector-specific options that don’t market well but often fit better.
  • Scripted demos. We write the scenarios from your real processes and every vendor gets the same ones. It makes them comparable and it exposes the gap between “yes we do that” and watching someone do it.
  • Total cost modelling over five years — licences, implementation, integration, training, and the annual uplift that gets left out of year-one comparisons.
  • Reference checks with organisations like yours, with real questions asked in a real conversation.
  • Scoring and recommendation, documented well enough to take to a board or satisfy a procurement requirement.
  • Contract and negotiation support — pricing, terms, exit and data portability. Getting your data out later is worth thinking about before you sign.

Sometimes the recommendation is that no replacement is warranted. We’ll say that if it’s what the evidence supports.
